I like the guy, he speaks in a reasonable way, I watched him in the TV a few times ago, he sounds like a good man from the inside, but this is the first time I read poems by him, it sounds great too.

Hello Juwairah. Lovely poem and the poems that u wrote show ur very talented masha2Allah. I want to ask u something, why did u turn out so religious? How can someone make sure that his daughter will turn out like u? I'm serious. What did ur parents do right in raising u? Thank u, and may God continue to guide u along the straight path.

First I want to welcome you to this blog, honoured to have you among us, and thanks a lot for your very nice post.... though I don't think I deserve such compliment honestly...

Any way, I guess there're certain things you have to make to ensure that isA your daughter would be raised as a fine muslim girl:

1- Be her best friend.... when a girl feels free talking with her parents that affects her tremendously, she feels secure and loved, and would make her turn to you for advice btter than turning to anyone else who may give her a wrong advice...

2- Be sure she's got a good comapny, I mean her freinds, coz freinds REALLY affect eachothers.

3- Try to choose a good islamic school for her, plz do, I was raised in a christian school -one of the best here in Egypt- and after I joined college I realized how great and noble things I've missed being raised in a christian school...

4- Always put God infront of her eyes, whenever anything happens relate it to HIM....

5- Always tell her about our brlovrd prophet, his wives, his companions, set them as her role models...

6- You have to teach her a lot about our religion, get her a qur'an teacher, make her attend lessons in any nearby mosque regularly..

That's all I can think about now, hope I've helped....

Masha2 Allah. Wow. Excellent advice, may Allah give u even more guidance happiness now and forever.
One of only 3 souces of 7asanat after one leaves this world is '3ilmun 3allamahu fantafa3al-nasu bihi', i.e knowledge taught that is beneficial to people, and ur post is an excellent example of that. Very helful and I hope everyone can add to this post on how to raise children in this day and age to become openminded Moslems who are immune to all the challenges to their faith from pop culture and other challenges, without being closeminded or isolationist.
I was in an Islamic school in Cairo here myself, but the government took over its management and ruined it.
All ur points are extremely important. I, for one, plan to raise my children as my parters in this journey we are all making together as a loving family from this Earth to Paradise insha2Allah. As partners, we help each other be more religious, observing the limits set by God for a father's rights, mother's rights and children's rights not because i am older and more powerful than them as a parent but because God chose these roles for us, and I gladly encourage their advice to me on how I can be closer to God and we all advise and help each other lovingly and respectfully to succeed in making it safely to Paradise as one close and loving family.

I'm happy that this blog is Islamic and openminded. I'd like to know what u and ur readers think is the reason our Islamic civilization was very successful and powerful and prosperous for the first 700 years after Islam appeared and why did that change in the following 700 years and everything gradually started to decline until we arrived at this lowest point nowadays? What made our civilization's curve begin to go down in the second 700 years instead of going up? If we can diagnose the disease correctly then we can treat it correctly, or at least try our best to do so.

Well, I guess 3 of the main reasons of such a deterioration is:

1- We don't follow the saying "Verily Allah loves that if one of you does an action
that he perfects it.” إن الله يحي إذا عمل أحدكم عملا أن يتقنه"
it's really sorrowful when we -the ummah of Ihsan or perfection- turn out to be that way, I mean no one does his job to the utmost, wokers may arrive to their jobs and do nothing, just waiting for dismissal time, it's scary when we compare the averages of working times for laborers here and in the US or europe for example.

2- We like to stress on things that aren't clear cut, like for example the issue of whether music is halal or haram in Islam, al niqab, beard, etc.........
I'm not saying that discussing these things aren't important, it's just that we shouldn't raise such discussions about issues with different jusristic opinions, you beleive in an opinion, I beleive in another, fine, each one of us follows what he's convinced about and what his heart tells him is right, abd let's move on, instead of talking and talking, we could spend our times in much more important things..

3- People misunderstand islam, they take it as a mere outer crust, whiile in fact it should be a total life style, Islam isn't about the 5 prayers, fasting, and putting on a head scarf, it shapes up your whole attitude, one shouldn't separate between his life and his religion, religion imapcts your attitude, and control what lies inside you.

Well, that's all I can think of now..
